Nothing haram gets through
Every reel is reviewed before it is published. There is no corner of this app you have to avoid, and nothing you find yourself scrolling past quickly.
Ask about the Qur'an
Type a question about a verse or a subject. Tafsir answers from the classical commentaries: the verses and the scholars' passages are quoted word for word from the Tafsir Center for Quranic Studies, and the short explanation that ties them together is marked as generated.
Prayer
Prayer times, wherever you are.
The Prayer tab takes your location, or a city you pick from 34,000, and works out the day's times on the phone itself. It needs no connection, and nothing is sent to a server to find out when Maghrib is.
- Calculated the way your country does it. Umm al-Qura, the Muslim World League, the Egyptian General Authority, the University of Karachi and others, chosen by country and changed in one tap. Hanafi Asr if that is your school.
- The adhan, in a voice you choose. Each prayer can sound the adhan, a plain alert, or nothing, with a reminder a few minutes before. The voices are recordings, downloaded once.
- Ramadan, Hijri, Qibla. The Hijri date beside the civil one, imsak and iftar in Ramadan, and a compass that points to the Kaaba.
- The reminders around the prayers. Sunrise, when Fajr ends. Morning and evening adhkar. Jumu'ah, forty-five minutes before Dhuhr. The white days, the evening before the 13th.
Widgets and watch
The next prayer, without opening the app.
Everything the widgets show is worked out by the app and kept on the phone. Nothing leaves it for them.
- iPhone home screen. Small: the next prayer, with a countdown ring that moves. Medium: today's five times. Large: the Hijri and civil dates and the day's reminder.
- Lock screen and StandBy. A circular countdown, a bar with the next prayer, or a single line above the clock. The same in StandBy while the phone charges on its side.
- Android. The same three widgets on the home screen, in the launcher's own corner radius.
- Apple Watch and Wear OS. With the watch apps, which come in the next release: today's times, the countdown and the day's reminder on the watch face, the Qibla bearing on your wrist, and a tile on Wear OS.
One reminder a day
An ayah, a hadith, a saying of the wise or a dua, once a day at the time you choose, in Arabic with the English underneath. Each one is picked by the editorial team from a library that carries its reference — Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Tirmidhi — and the Qur'an is quoted exactly as written.
